Nursing an injury, I wandered around the trailhead area where I usually run at South Mountain and took some macro shots.
I had a few problems.
First, it was breezy, so catching flowers and the like when they were still was challenging.
Second, I was lazy and didn’t bring my tripod.
Third, it was quite sunny. This wasn’t a problem for the images directly, but I still don’t know how to get a good look on the screen at a shot that I’ve just taken to check for sharpness. Backlit screens are hard to see in the sun.
As a result, these shots aren’t as good as I’d like them to be, but they’re what I have to share today. It’s all part of the learning process.
This one is my favorite.

This one I almost like. If I could have seen the shot in the camera, I might have noticed that not quite enough of this little guy was in focus, and I would have changed the extension tubes to be able to get a deeper slice in focus.

I like the webs, especially with the sun. The shot isn’t as compelling as I’d hoped, and like the bug, it needs more in focus, but it’s not terrible.

The trees all have pods on them. I like the coloring on these.

Last, a phone shot of my neighbor’s tree. The swirly pods neat!
