The other morning, we woke up to frost. This happens every winter sometimes, but it’s not nearly daily.
The roofs and grass (lawns, parks, etc.) were lightly coated. As I was returning from dropping Rocket Kid off at school, I noticed that our garage roof had one stripe across it that was thawed and the rest was still frosty and it was interesting to look at. So I grabbed a step stool and the Nikon and went out.
I was not tall enough even with the step stool to be at the angle I wanted, but pictures of the roof weren’t worth dragging out the ladder. So I took a few from where I was, and they weren’t all that exciting and didn’t look much like what I was picturing in my head when I headed out there in the first place.

While I was out there, a hummingbird came back to visit the tree again! I was delighted and a bit surprised, since it was so cold.

Other birds also came by to rest for a moment.

I also thought it might be neat to take some shots straight up into the tree. I was incorrect hahaha
That’s a thing I love about digital photography, though. I can start with “I wonder if that would look good” and try it and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t really matter.
And also … I’m sure there’s a way to frame that shot so that it looks interesting and I just haven’t figured it out yet.
Last, we have a lovely hanging succulent by the front door and I caught a piece of it behind a post.
