I saw a macro photo of two burning matches and wanted to try to recreate it or make something similar.
My results weren’t what I’d hoped for, but they’re decent. Part of the problem was that I didn’t have anything to hold the matches. I took many shots with one match instead of two, then messed with the timer, had the focus set (but had to get the matches in the right spot), and it was OK. I’m going to try it again at some point with some Play-Doh or something that will be easy to stick the matches in at whatever angle I want and easy to replace them often.
“Mom! How many matches are you wasting for this?!”
None. But I used up quite a few and had a good time trying.
