Oddness of summer solstice

Today is the summer solstice. It’s the longest day of the year.

No, not one with more than 24 hours—the one in the northern hemisphere with the most daylight. (The amount of daylight depends on how far from the equator you are.)

So it’s the longest day, but it’s early in the summer.

I can’t speak to your experience, but how I have experienced long summer days and the actuality of long days doesn’t match.

Late August feels like longer days than late April, but they’re the same distance from the solstice.

Weird.
